Advice Paper on Targeting and Achieving Intended Gender Outcomes for Agricultural VC Development in Kenya
The purpose of the paper is to guide the team implementing the programme by clarifying the links between gender and VC development, highlighting barriers to gender-inclusive VCs as well as potential strategies to overcome them. Whilst much of the content of the brief is relevant beyond the context of Kenya, it is compiled and analysed with the particular scope and objectives of the AgriFI Kenya Challenge Fund in mind. It aims to equip the AgriFI team with appropriate tools to assess concept notes (CN), communicate the business case for gender inclusive VCs to SMEs, and engage in effective monitoring and evaluation. In summary, the paper is designed to support the programme’s implementation to ensure that AgriFI achieves its intended gender outcomes.
